Show your face!

So it's a slow day, and with respect to the recent "guidance" from the Feds on face masks here's something I find interesting.   The CDC as of 3 April was recommending everyone wear a cloth face mask in public, especially in areas where "social distancing" wasn't possible.  The guidance is found here:

https://www.cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019-ncov/prevent-getting-sick/cloth-face-cover.html

The problem is, they say "We now know from recent studies that a significant portion of individuals with coronavirus lack  symptoms (“asymptomatic”) and that even those who eventually develop  symptoms (“pre-symptomatic”) can transmit the virus to others before  showing symptoms."

As I said, it's a slow day, so I read through all those studies and abstracts.  Not one of them says beans about asymptomatic transmission via simple breathing, etc.

Now on 6 April, the WHO (no, John Greening, not the band) say the opposite of the CDC.  Mainly, that:

"the wide use of masks by healthy people in the community setting is not supported by current evidence and carries uncertainties and critical risks."   Risks like false sense of security, and reduction in other proven measures.  Makes sense to me.

Make your own decisions, but don't let some dingbat City Council make them FOR you.

PS Here's the WHO document:
